Katie-I really had no idea how difficult your past has been, I think you have done a lot of cool stuff at AHS and you have clearly overcome a lot in your life. You could tell you were sad about your past, but you maintained your composure extremely well so good job!

I'm impressed that you didn't use note cards. The lecture flowed very well. It's great that you decided to not follow your sister.
You didn't let anything stop you. You've been given reasons to just give up but you haven't very impressive.
You'll be a great teacher. You were very natural up there. Good luck Katie!

Home life can be tougher than people think.

Having to grow up earlier then most people sucks because there is always a lot of pressure.

You did a great job!

PBS is the BEST! I miss all those shows terribly... I had no idea that you had these difficulties. They certainly would be rough, and I'm glad you were able to grow from them, even though it might not have been the best way to do so. I liked your strength quotes! It's so great that you have been able to turn your seemingly terrible situations into great learning experiences! That takes a lot of maturity. Good luck with your future as well! I too am pursuing a career with special needs. It is an incredibly rewarding field. Great job!!

You were very open with your past, it made your presentation much more real to the audience, good job.
I didn't know you did cheers, cool. :)
It was very smart of you to focus during junior year.

It's so amazing what you have made out of your life even if you didnt get the childhood you asked for. It takes a strong person to become the person they want to be and not be influenced by others. Great job making it to state in DECA! Overall your presentation was great, best of luck next year at Metro and in the rest of your life.

quite a changeover from the lightheartedness of earlier presentations, but in a good way, not all experience that define us is positive at the time. impressive move going from sports to academic extracurriculars, thats a big change. great job!

Very strong catch at the beginning, I was instantly attentive. You have a great future ahead of you, metro state is a very wise choice for a school. You were easy to hear, and you looked good presenting it. Great job!

You've had some tough stuff in your life it sounds like, but I think it's good that you have done a lot of different things at Arapahoe and you've worked hard! You also did a pretty good job presenting you talked loud enough and had pretty good eye contact with the audience, plus you did a great job being clear and consise! Good luck!

Katie, you truly are a very strong person! You had to go through so much through your life, in such a short amount of time, and you have still come out on top! Obviously you care so much about being the best you possibly can be! You did such an amazing job in DECA this year! I was so happy to be able to share such an amazing experience with you! As for your future, you are going to make such a great teacher because of all of the life lessons you have learned! I can't wait to see what your future brings for you! You are so passionate about life, and I know that your life is going to be awesome because you are so hardworking!

I like how you connected your growth with your sisters faults. It would have been really easy to follow the same path. It shows how responsible and hard working you are. Great presentation!

You started off really heavy but you totally used that to build up the speech and keep our attention. You explained where you are coming from and where you are going really well.

I like how you talked about turned a past negative into an opportunity to grow. It's cool how you didn't use any note cards and just talked to the audience. Your future looks like it will be a lot of fun. Good luck.

It is unfortunate that you had to grow up so fast, but it is good that it has taught you so much about how you want to live your life. I thought it was interesting how you had something different that you focused on every year of high school, but i think that its cool that you got to experience so many different things. You seemed a little nervous at first, but that wore off and your speech was great. good luck with everything!

I thought you had a very strong presentation. I thought it was very affective how you didn’t have any notes in front of you because it gave a more personal and engaging speech. I thought it was great how you showed your struggles and how you have grown from them to be the person you are today. Great job

I love how each time an obstacle or difficulty came up in your life you dealt with it and looked for new opportunities.
Your presentation makes it obvious that you have worked hard and I hope you are able to achieve everything you want in life!

The pictures were very good and so was the information. The only suggestion I have is to wrap your ideas towards one goal.

well done for being able to talk to your background presentation without using notes. You kept a good pace, keeping me engaged and admiring the way in which you have risen to the challenges of your personal life and beyond. This confidence in speaking note-free will stand you in good stead for the future.
